Jake and Jennifer Rogers were both born and raised in Northwestern Pennsylvania. After leaving their hometown, they moved to Pittsburgh where they built their careers and raised their two children, Jake Jr. and Madison, for more than twenty years.

Then COVID changed everything.

Jake had been working remotely in IT and Jennifer in marketing, so when the world suddenly shifted to remote work and the kids were home, they began asking a question many people were asking at the time: if we can live anywhere, where should we live?

Instead of guessing, they decided to experience different places firsthand. Their plan was simple. Rent an Airbnb each month in a new location until they found the place that felt like home. They had a list of things they were looking for: hospitals, great food, culture, and a strong sense of community.

But first, they said, let's go to the beach!

They searched the coast for an oceanfront home and packed up their truck, heading south to Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Neither of them had spent much time in the area before. In fact, the Outer Banks was about as far south as they had ever explored.

After spending time in Atlantic Beach and immersing themselves in the Crystal Coast community, something clicked. One evening while sitting on the beach, Jake and Jennifer looked at each other and said, "I don't think we need to look any further."

Soon after, they signed a lease, returned to Pittsburgh, and put their house up for sale. Five years later, they are still here and have never looked back.

They fell in love with Atlantic Beach, the Crystal Coast, and the people who make this area special.

The idea for Bucket Gift Co. came in the most natural way. Jennifer created a set of gift buckets for a corporate event she was organizing, and they were a huge hit. A few months later, Jake was sitting on the beach reflecting after stepping away from a 25 year career in IT when the idea hit him. These buckets could be more than just a one time gift. They could become a business, one that celebrates the coastal lifestyle and supports local makers and businesses.

And just like that, Bucket Gift Co. was born.

Today, Jake and Jennifer curate coastal inspired gift buckets filled with thoughtfully selected items, many sourced from local and regional businesses along the Crystal Coast. Their goal is simple: create memorable gifts that bring a little bit of the coast to every occasion.
